514 Chamossaire entered traffic on 28 September 1946, allocated to Kings Cross from new, although it only spent two years on the top lines duties before being moved out to Peterborough’s New England shed on 19 December 1948.Chamossaire had been renumbered to 60514 under British Railways on 23 March 1948 and was a late recipient of the Diagram 118 boiler, entering Doncaster Works on 16 January 1961 and re-entering traffic just over a month later.
